4 cups potatoes cut into 1-inch cubes
2 medium chopped onions
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon pepper

Combine these ingredients in a large pot, and cook over medium heat, until the potatoes are done (they are soft when pierced with a fork).

Add 3 cups of milk and ¼ cup of butter. Continue to heat until heated thoroughly. When serving, you can garnish with chopped parsley, or a bit of chopped dill, or top with fresh cream if desired.
